Helping you achieve better work-life balance

Given that we spend more than a third of our life at work, surely we owe it to ourselves to lead a healthy, balanced work life.

Yet 1 in 5 UK employees took time off work for stress and burnout last year.

We rarely get the opportunity to take stock of our professional lives, reflect on the dynamics at work and think about how we can cope with difficult situations.

Counselling can offer the supportive space and time to do just that.

Developing awareness and insight into the challenges you face at work can help you to gain a sense of agency in your professional life, set better boundaries and enjoy your work more.

Hello, I’m Sarah Boucher, a counsellor with a focus on workplace wellbeing and work-life balance.

With over 20 years’ work in a variety of workplace cultures, from corporates to charities and the public sector, I have experienced first-hand the pressures, pushes and pulls of work, including redundancy and burnout, and understand how they can impact on your wellbeing.

My focus is on helping you understand the effect work is having on you, so that you can create a more balanced, healthy and sustainable work life.

So, if your mental health is suffering as a result of work, or you are struggling with any personal challenges in the workplace, I am here to offer a supportive, confidential and non-judgemental space - some dedicated time to allow you to work through your problems, so that we can find the best way forward for you.

My experience and qualifications

I currently see adults in my private practice who are experiencing a range of work and personal issues. I also work on behalf of Anglia Ruskin University as a staff counsellor and previously, student counsellor.

I have a degree in languages and with that comes an interest in different people and cultures. I have lived abroad and travelled internationally for my work, giving me good awareness of intercultural issues.

I have worked in a variety of organisations including corporates, SMEs and the public sector, mostly in education and publishing.

I have experience of commercial roles but have also worked as a teacher, tutor and in educational support.
