Counselling for individuals
Stress & burnout
Humans are not designed for the demands of our 24/7 connected world, which is why many people experience a sense of overwhelm which can result in tenseness, low mood and poor concentration. Stress is also a major cause of burnout, which manifests in mental and physical exhaustion, disengagement and low productivity.
I can offer a supportive space to affirm your feelings, explore how work is linked to self-worth and work with you on techniques to alleviate pressure.
Anxiety
When excessive worry or fear of a situation starts to dominate your everyday life, that’s anxiety. When it prevents you from living life to the full and achieving the things you want to, it can be really debilitating.
I can help you unpick your anxiety, challenge your thought processes and find practical strategies to tackle it in whatever situation you find the most challenging.
Work-life balance
Too often, the demands of our work mean that it seeps in to our private or family time, putting our health and relationships under strain.
I can work with you to identify pressure points and redefine the boundaries between your work and home life in order to restore the balance.
Redundancy
Being issued with redundancy can be a shock to the system. Your work is often a big part of your identity and finding yourself suddenly without a job may result in a lack of confidence or worthlessness.
Together we can help you come to terms with your feelings and explore how redundancy might provide opportunities to explore other avenues.
Bullying & harassment
Being subjected to discriminatory, intimidating or offensive behaviour in the workplace be that unfair treatment, undermining or unwanted remarks can make you feel stressed and isolated.
I will talk through your situation to help you find relief, develop assertiveness and if necessary, build the courage to find support from within your organisation or outside it.
Impostor Syndrome
You are in a position of responsibility that you’ve earnt legitimately and yet you feel unworthy of it, a fraud and full of self-doubt. Impostor syndrome is often linked to perfectionism and anxiety and can afflict the most capable of individuals. It has a knack of robbing you of your enjoyment of your position and making you underplay your talents.
I can support you in exploring the source of your doubt, help you develop your confidence and validate your abilities.
