Neglecting this can lead to significant losses, as reflected in the statistics: 1 in 5 UK employees took time off for mental health issues in the last year, resulting in thousands of lost work days and decreased productivity.
Start-up environments, with their high-pressure cultures, make employees particularly vulnerable to stress, burnout, and isolation.
Addressing these issues proactively not only fosters a healthier workplace but also enhances retention and overall business performance.
However, last year only 28% of SMEs provided their employees access to counselling via an occupational health EAP (Employee Assistance Programme), with cost being cited as a key barrier.
As a counsellor with a focus on workplace wellbeing, I am here to offer a bespoke service to small businesses. Cambridge based, I work 1:1 with employees to support them with their mental health, help them better understand their challenges and develop their resilience and coping strategies.
